God gives us the gift of life and
invites us to an ever deepening relationship. How do we grow
in our relationship with God? Jesus and his followers, St. Francis
of Assisi, the saints, holy people in our lives, and members of our
own parish community show us the way. We grow in faith through
prayer, through works of compassion and mercy and by using the
unique gifts we have received for the building of the kingdom.
Stewardship describes our role as stewards or caretakers of all that
God has provided.
Stewardship invites us to grow in faith by prayerfully reflecting on
the choices and commitments we make daily in our lives. Choices
about how we spend our time, utilize our talents, and spend our
money. Such a reflection can be affirming and challenging. Affirming
in that it helps us realize the many ways big and small that we
respond to God’s call by providing for ourselves and our families,
contributing through our work, and participating in our community
and Church. Challenging in that in listening to God we can discover
new ways in which God is calling us to follow and share our unique
gifts. |
